We are well into October and while many of you still have your hands over your ears saying lalalalala, that doesn’t change the fact that Christmas is coming!!
For me, it’s been all systems go for months. I have to make well over 300 decorations to prepare for the silly season. My Etsy shop is chock full of ready to ship sets and lots of options for personalised decorations. I’ve got you covered for teacher’s gifts, grandparent gifts, new baby gifts and special memories for your own tree.
Personalised decorations even have the option of coming with a gorgeous handmade gift pouch, so you don’t even have to worry about wrapping your super amazing gift!
Below are just some of the items available for purchase or order right now in my Etsy shop.
If you’ve been thinking about a special gift for your child’s teacher, grandparent, special friend or something for your own tree, then you better get moving! It won’t be long until I won’t be taking more orders for personalised decorations. One of these special decorations goes through lots of processes before it’s ready to ship to you. First it’s rolled, cut and dried for several days, then sanded and refined. Next is to fire in the kiln for 15 hours, with another 8 hours for the kiln to cool. Then it’s 2 coats of glaze before being fired again. Finally, I add your special wording then it’s back into the kiln for a 3rd firing before being wrapped, boxed and posted. Phew, that’s a lot of work!
There are lots of personalised options this year with lots of choices to make. From glaze colour to ribbon colour, decoration shape to bead finish. You can customise your decoration to get just the result you are after. Here are a few of the options:
If you are after a ready to go gift, I’ve got you covered for that too. From ring dishes to fridge magnets, decorations to bowls. Any ready to ship item will be posted the next business day.
It’s a scary thing, but Christmas is only 10 weeks away!
I spend months and months preparing for the silly season, making hundreds of decorations. I have some brand new designs for this year’s personalised range of ornaments that are the perfect gift for family members (especially Nan and Pop) and are great for teacher’s gifts. And don’t forget that special family decoration for your own tree.
Here are some of the personalised designs for 2016
Believe it or not, I’ve been planning and prepping for the Christmas season since January. Yep, it takes me ALL YEAR to build up enough stock and nut out all my new ideas in time for the Oct – Dec season.
I’m so excited to show you a huge range of new designs this year, as well as a heap of new personalised options. Every ornament is handmade using the highest quality porcelain. Each set is either one of a kind or a very limited run of 3 or 4 sets. This makes your decorations very unique and collectible.
To see what is available right now, head over to my Madeit or Etsy shop. But check back often, as new sets are being listed every few days.
Last year was the first Christmas for my porcelain ornaments. I was totally unprepared for how popular they would be and kept selling out and rushing to make more. So this year I’ve been preparing since Feb! Every time I pull out the clay to make some ring dishes or bowls, I make a few decorations to go into my stash. I’ve started listing a few sets in my Madeit and Etsy stores, keep checking in regularly as I’ll be listing lots more over the coming months.
Those of you who follow my blog will know that I can’t seem to work too long on a design before my brain insists I try out other new ideas. My last batch of little ring dishes and bowls were a real hit, and I then started thinking more about ring dishes and more specifically wedding ring dishes. My latest creations are focused on modern and fun ring and jewellery dishes with a touch of classic lace. A perfect alternative to the traditional wedding ring pillow.
First up I made a few heart shaped dishes with an amazing new turquoise glaze that I love!
Then I thought how cute a flower dish would be and I love how these came out
This is a larger scalloped edge bowl that can hold your watch, rings and necklace or maybe put it by the door for your keys. I love it as a candle holder
And then quite by accident I came up with this little frilly/rippled edge bowl
And of course, I had to try something totally new too! I’m getting organised early for Christmas this year with these decorations. Looking forward to playing with lots of new designs and colours for these.
Most of the designs you see here have just been listed in my Madeit shop. Some are on Etsy. If you prefer to shop on Etsy, just let me know and I can list it there for you.
